The largest medieval crypts in London make an unusual and atmospheric space for your events.
Dating back to 1042 the East and West Crypts are unlike many spaces in London and offer a beautiful, historic atmosphere with contrasting styles.
The East Crypt boasts a stunning, vaulted ceiling supported by stone and marble pillars and decorated with carved heads, shields and flowers. The West Crypt was completely sealed following the collapse of its ceiling during the Great Fire of 1666 and only reopened in 1973 following extensive restoration.
With a maximum combined capacity of 500 for standing events, the Crypts make a powerfully atmospheric space. They are regularly utilised as complementary spaces for events in the Great Hall as well as on their own.
