Soccer Aid for UNICEF Gala Dinner

Held at Illuminate, in partnership with White Light and the Science Museum.

On the 12th June 2019 Moving Venue were honoured to partner with White Light and the Science Museum to host the first ever Soccer Aid for UNICEF Gala Dinner at Illuminate. The event hosted some incredible sports stars, celebrities and numerous TV personalities. This was by far the highest profile event Illuminate has hosted to date and it showcased the venue in all its glory. We displayed our creativity and flair bringing a unique experience to their guests including Sir Mo Farah, Niall Horan, Usain Bolt and Jamie Redknapp.

The Gala Dinner was a key event in this year’s UNICEF campaign with the sole purpose of the event being to raise money to fund projects across the globe supporting some of the most disadvantaged children.

Hosting 280 guests, our latest exclusive event space Illuminate was the event’s main attraction hosting the sit-down meal, whilst VIP guests were free to explore the interactive event space Wonderlab for their drink’s reception. The event was a phenomenal success with celebrities from around the world enjoying a special performance from the UNICEF UK Ambassador and Soccer Aid Co-Founder, Robbie Williams.

We also had the incredible opportunity to work alongside the 2018 MasterChef finalist, Nisha Parmar who with our Executive Head Chef David Ridgway, created a bespoke Indian inspired gourmet sensation to amaze the guests.

The Reception highlights included an ‘Orange blossom and jasmine lady’ cocktail and stunning canapés presented on striking mini football pitches which provided a bespoke and fun football theme to the reception.

The dinner menu featured a crispy coconut prawn starter before salt marsh lamb loin with whipped sheep’s curd, grilled leeks, wild mushrooms and a spiced potato and tarragon samosa for main course. The show stopping dessert was a twist on our Spring/Summer white chocolate cheesecake, with an interesting swap to strawberry, rose and pistachio flavours.

The event was a phenomenal success and raised over £500k for the charity on the night. We were honoured to be a part of this incredible event for an extremely worthy cause.

Having had a fantastic start to the contract since March this year, the sales team in the Museum and all the dedicated partners involved are looking forward to keeping up the momentum and so will be offering agencies an enhanced commission of 12% for any bookings in July and September for a limited time only!
