The Orangery at Kensington Palace
In April, we were thrilled to be appointed to cater for the highly anticipated reopening of The Orangery at Kensington Palace. After a seven-year closure and extensive restoration by independent charity Historic Royal Palaces, the venue has relaunched as an exclusive events space, ideal for a diverse range of occasions, such as lavish weddings accommodating up to 300 guests or elegant summer soiree receptions.
Having served as a trusted catering partner of Historic Royal Palaces for more than twenty-five years, we were chosen to provide exceptional food and beverage services for the reception. With a proven track record of delivering a diverse range of events, large and small, we will continue to be a preferred caterer for events hosted in the Orangery.
The style of the venue fosters year-round events, inspiring summer drinks receptions on the Orangery Terrace, along with cosy, intimate sit-down dinners during the winter months, all set against an unparalleled backdrop. Immersed in the rich history of Queen Anne’s Orangery, each event held here is crafted to be distinctive and extraordinary.
The Catering
Guests were invited to indulge in a culinary adventure with our exquisite menu selections, all inspired by the culinary trend of 'Glocalisation'. This concept seamlessly integrates global culinary influences whilst using locally sourced produce.
Citrus Fruits
Orangeries, originally designed to shield citrus trees from the rigours of Britain’s winters, can be viewed as a pioneering and sustainable example of ‘Glocalisation’ in their own regard. Citrus fruits, traditionally cultivated in Orangeries, were featured prominently across the entire menu. The culinary journey began with the Orange Blossom and Bergamot Martini cocktail served upon arrival, followed by the wild bass fillet and scorched orange butter ravioli bowl food, and concluded with the vibrant flavours of the Amalfi Lemons: lemon whipped ganache with hints of mint and lemon marmalade.
Seasonal Ingredients
We also championed a range of seasonal British ingredients. Among the offerings presented to guests were the subtle flavours of the Courgette Canneloni, filled with creamy cashew curd and paired with smoked vinegar gel. For those with a penchant for savoury delights, the Lamb Belly Croquettes proved irresistible, served with pickled rhubarb, golden beets, and a refreshing crushed pea salad.
