One Young World Opening Party
Moving Venue were delighted to be asked to cater the Opening Party of the One Young World 2019 Summit at the Natural History Museum.
This was the first time the summit had been held in London since its conception 10 years ago. Held on 22nd October, the party followed the opening ceremony that took place at the Royal Albert Hall, and meant that Moving Venue were catering for 2,400 guests arriving all at once. The party was spread across the whole of the Museum, and we were charged with handling the operationally challenging event.
Our team placed numerous bars across the venue in order to greet guests with a drink as soon as they arrived. We had to work incredibly closely with the Museum team so that we could make sure the flow of guests worked both from a catering perspective as well as a safety perspective.
Guests entered first through the Earth Hall and then made their way through some fantastic galleries before meeting in Hintze Hall. On the Darwin staircase our guests were treated to several exceptional musical performances by young people from around the world.
Moving Venue served a completely vegetarian and vegan friendly menu that catered to all the 192 nationalities that were present. Serving almost 10,000 bowls across the Museum was no easy task, but with our meticulous planning, we ensured that every guest left the evening feeling full.
