Magazine London - 2019 Wrapped Up
Since opening its doors in September 2019, Magazine London has already played host to a variety of exciting and diverse events.
As exclusive in-house caterer, Moving Venue have been delighted to be involved in every step of Magazine London's journey so far, offering unique catering options for over 9,000 guests.
From exciting brand activations and prestigious awards dinners through to the venue being transformed into an alpine wonderland for its first ever festive season, in just 4 months Magazine London has played host to some incredible events.
HIGHLIGHTS
Desperados Brand Activation
September 2019
The first ever event to take place within the venue was a Brand Activation for Desperados, in collaboration with Elrow. 3,000 guests were treated to street food stalls serving Jerk Chicken, Pulled Pork Burgers and Tasty Bean Tacos, alongside a fully immersive guest experience complete with an octopus bar serving drinks via tentacles!
Gay Times Honours 500
November 2019
We were delighted to cater for the Gay Times Honours 500, a ceremony dedicated to acknowledging individuals who have made a profound impact on LGBTQ people in the past year. 300 VIP guests were treated to delicious street food bites, including Taiwanese Pork Bao buns, Buttermilk chicken burgers, and a tofu poke bowl, all washed down with a Drambuie cocktail – one of the sponsored partners for the event. Following the awards ceremony, 500 Gay Times fans arrived, and the after party was well and truly underway. Moving Venue provided two incredible authentic food traders – Deeney’s Toasties and Cheeky Burger – offering late night revellers much-needed sustenance throughout the night. The event was a huge success, with copious compliments on the food and service. A smash hit for such a new venue to the London scene!
Christmas 2019 - Après
In December, Smart Christmas Parties took over Magazine London and transformed the space into an alpine wonderland, ready to host incredible Christmas parties. Guests of both exclusive and shared parties were transported to the slopes for an après-ski party, complete with log cabins, alpine bars and blizzards of snow cascading down from gondolas suspended from the ceiling.
From innovative conference lunches, to high-end three course gala dinners, to authentic street food traders, the range of catering provided for events in these first few months of opening is an exciting indicator of what’s to come. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for Magazine London and Moving Venue.
