A Thanksgiving to Remember
Moving Venue partnered with the National Gallery, Event Concept, Veevers Carter and Sternberg Clarke to deliver a sumptuous Thanksgiving banquet for the UK students of Northeastern University.
A British Thanksgiving
Following the launch of their UK campus, US university Northeastern, were keen to ensure the first Thanksgiving away from home was one to remember for many of their UK-based students.
Events of this scale and nature must be carefully delivered within the protected gallery spaces of the National Gallery; protecting the fabric of the building must remain at the forefront of our planning, whilst we also consider the logistical challenges of loading in with limited lift space in a short window of time, plus restrictions on power load at any one time.
Alongside our other accredited supplier partners, including Event Concept production, we worked incredibly closely with the venue’s event operations team to devise tightly controlled plans and advise our clients of the best event format that we were confident could be delivered. We are renowned for our operational and logistical excellence across UVL venues, but our bespoke culinary offering and delicious food remain our ‘bread and butter’. We worked with the University team to devise a traditional Thanksgiving feast, featuring succulent turkey breast and leg meat, sweet potato casserole, brussel sprouts, stuffing and more!
Event Concept ensured the venue looked (and sounded) incredible with spectacular warm lighting, a feature photo opportunity and rose-gold toned bars. Veevers Carter adorned the bars, plinths and the dining tables with gold and burgundy toned floral displays, truly reminiscent of a traditional Thanksgiving feast. Adding to the guest’s experience, Sternberg and Clark provided a wonderful string quartet playing Bridgerton-esque takes of modern songs in a classical style and the venue’s own curators delighted guests with fascinating talks about the historic and iconic pieces on display.
