Daytime Hire at the Science Museum

As the home of science, technology and innovation, the Science Museum offers one of London’s most unique locations to host any event.  With its world-famous exhibitions and amazing galleries, the Science Museum is a unique and inspiring venue for corporate and private events. Of course, as a Museum, the venue has thousands of visitors each week meaning events can only take place during the evening in the majority of spaces.

However, for a limited time, we have the exciting opportunity to host daytime events throughout the Museum. Until approximately March 2022, the Science Museum will remain closed to public visitors on Mondays and Tuesdays in a bid to phase reopening of Museums in the South Kensington area. Therefore, once it is safe to do so, the venue can host a huge variety of events across all of the gallery spaces.

Of course, as a dedicated event space, Illuminate can already host daytime events at the Science museum, however, the gallery spaces now offer a larger number of options. Ranging from lunch time award ceremonies in ‘Making of the Modern World’ to networking receptions in the interactive ‘Wonderlab’, there are a total of 15 spaces to host an event in the Science Museum suiting a huge variety of event types and capacities. The daytime closure also means that full day event builds can take place allowing for more elaborate events.

The Science Museum have also recently refurbished their IMAX theatre. Joining the much-loved IMAX 70mm film projector is a next-generation IMAX® with Laser 4K projector, giving you the rare opportunity to view the the latest in immersive technology all on one giant screen – one of only two screens in Europe to feature the best of digital and analogue cinema. This offers the perfect setting for auditorium style events.
