The challenge for us when creating a new wine list is always ensuring that it’s as eclectic and appealing as our menus whilst offering the quality and value that we’ve built our reputation on. In practice, this is a great challenge to face and we can’t pretend that we didn’t have a lot of fun coupled with some heated discussions tasting through the selections. We have worked closely with Tom Gilbey at the Vintner for a number of years so Tom, who’s over the first hurdle of his Master of Wine qualification, was on hand to guide us and challenge us along the way.
No fewer than forty wines were tasted to arrive at this selection – hence the heated discussions – and that’s after the initial exercise of ‘what looks good on paper?’. We are now proud to share a list that ticks Jay’s remit of eclectic, Chloe’s call for ‘true quality at a price that appeals’ and Tom Goodwin’s instruction of ‘current and on trend’. For those that haven’t met all of us yet, Jay is group head of bars and bar operations, Chloe is our sales and marketing director and Tom has the enviable job of MD, keeping us all in check.
Above all, we know plenty about these wines we have selected. We are very excited to be able to offer such a well thought and exciting range to our clients. They’re unique and delicious and we would welcome the chance to tell you more about them.

CHAMPAGNE GRAND CRU GRANDE RESERVE BRUT, ANDRE CLOUET, FRANCE
This really is as good as Champagne gets. 100% Grand Cru and blended soley from Pinot Noir grown in the vineyards touching those used for Veuve Cliquot 'La Grande Dame'. Very very fine!
PICPOUL DE PINET 'PRÉAMBULE', CAVE DE L'ORMARINE, COTEAUX DU LANGUEDOC, 2016
One of the easiest drinking, most dry and fresh wines on our wine list. This is the perfect match for all types of seafood, salad and light canape foods.
SANCERRE 'LA MERCY DIEU', DOMAINE BAILLY REVERDEY, FRANCE, 2015
Made by one of the best growers in Sancerre this has all the hallmarks of complex, superb Sauvignon. The ripe, crisp gooseberry fruit is balanced by a delicous creamy, minerally texture.
CABALETTA, TENUTE FIOREBELLI, ROSSO DELLE VENEZIE, ITALY, 2014
This is perhaps the easiest drinking red on our list. Similar in style to a very well made Valpoicella, this is soft, ultra juicy and dangerously easy to drink.
JAMES BRYANT HILL ESTATE PINOT NOIR, CENTRAL COAST, CALIFORNIA, USA, 2014
Organic Pinot Noir from the sun drenched vineyards of California. A very difficult wine not to love, this is ripe, fine and very moreish.
