On Tuesday 21st October, Moving Venue catered the illustrious Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awards at the Natural History Museum.
The awards, co-owned by the Natural History Museum and BBC Worldwide, are an opportunity to celebrate stunning photography by brilliant artists who have created life-changing moments through their work. This also marked the 50th year of the wildlife & nature photography competition. Sir David Attenborough, who awarded the very first grand title winner, C V R Dowdeswell, with his medal in 1965, will be presented the two grand title awards this year joined by special guest the Duchess of Cambridge, who is a patron of the museum.
The renowned London caterer provided a champagne and canapé reception in the museum’s Waterhouse Way followed by a seated dinner for 450 guests whilst the awards take place. The menu, designed to reflect the vibrancy of the photography whilst championing the best of British produce featured, poached dover sole fillet, wilted spinach and vermouth sauce; followed by Kentish lamb cutlet, slow cooked shoulder with a mascarpone parcel and lamb jus. Champagne, cocktails and a pudding station will rounded off the dinner as guests moved into the after-party with music from Carlos Rossi and his Organic Jam. The pudding station served an array of miniature classics reinterpreted, including mini bread and butter pudding; pistachio and lemon battenburgs; and gooseberry fool.
