I started with pretty humble beginnings at a bar back at a pub in Leicester almost 20 years ago. That was where my love for the industry started and I'm happy to say it's still as strong as ever.
Over the years I've been fortunate enough to work across the world at a number of elite bars and restaurants. I've worked alongside and been inspired by the very best in the industry from Michelin star chefs through to industry leading experts and award winning bartenders.
My love for great wine has inspired me to visit vineyards across Europe, California, New Zealand & Australia. Recently I passed the first stage in my journey to become a qualified sommelier.
One thing that had been a constant throughout my life is cocktails. Ever since my early days I've developed a passion and flair for cocktails that has stuck with me to this day. I've been lucky enough to win a number of prestigious national awards for Beefeater, Havana Club, Bombay Sapphire, Snow Queen and Bols.
I am honoured and proud to have been at Moving Venue for 2 months now and I am super excited to bring my own spin to this prestigious event caterer. I have recently just created a brand new cocktail menu to be used across all Moving Venue events. My inspiration for the cocktail list is simple...Fresh local ingredients, homemade, hand picked and lovingly prepared. I’ve used the very best ingredients and modern techniques to make a list worthy of any bar across the land. My personal favourite is the Rhubarb & Fennel Fix:
50ml Hendricks Gin
25ml Homemade Rhubarb & fennel syrup
2 drops Rhubarb bitters
20ml Lemon juice
Topped with Prosecco
Served over an Ice shard
Jay's Quick Fire Round...
1) What are your 3 must see things on Netflix...
Anything David Attenborough, Blue Planet, Planet Earth, Frozen Planet. Beautiful, fascinating, inspiring! Perfect for a rainy day lounging on the sofa.
2) What is your favourite place in the world?
Sydney, Australia – I’ve been fortune enough to live and work in Australia for three years. It’s a truly wonderful place with beautiful people, amazing beaches, great food and drinks & a lovely relaxed way of life.
3)If you could only make one drink for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Negroni – Although it’s a pretty simple cocktail with just three ingredients you’d be surprised how easy it is to mess up. For me I like equal parts Beefeater gin, Campari & Punt e Mes stirred to perfection and garnished with an orange wedge.
4) If you had a super power, what would it be?

5) What is your biggest fear?
People finding out my super power!
