A year of Landing Forty Two!

Moving Venue were thrilled to become the sole caterer at Landing Forty Two in March 2017 and we cannot believe the year we’ve had at the venue. Landing Forty Two is the highest dedicated event space in London, as the name would suggest- on the 42nd Floor, the venue boasts 5,000 sq. ft of flexible space so it’s no wonder we have catered many diverse and unusual events at the venue.

We kicked off our new partnership with the venue by catering a reception in March 2017 for Moving Venue’s friends, colleagues and fellow industry professionals. The promotional event also launched the new Moving Venue brand so the entire team were looking forward to a exciting evening. Guests arrived and enjoyed cocktails whilst admiring the stunning views over London. We catered Live Cooking stations which included a variety of risotto flavours finished in and served from a Parmesan wheel as well as a Poke Bar serving ceviche from ice blocks. The event indicated just how diverse the space can be and was a brilliant kick start to the year.

Promotional events throughout the year have always been fun and interactive at Landing Forty Two. In July 2017, the venue hosted ‘Cinema in the Sky’ at which there was a screening of Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for 130 event professionals. Guests enjoyed a pop-corn station serving flavours such as Gin and Tonic, Madras curry and lime and Coconut during the film. Moving Venue also served our street eats such as buttermilk chicken with kimchi mayonnaise burger which enhanced the overall relaxed feel of the event.

Landing Forty Two’s modern and industrial feel lends itself to futuristic and contemporary themed events and we have often been asked by clients to encapsulate this within the catering of their event. No more so was this the case then for an event managed by Clive Experiential Agency in October 2017. As guests arrived they were greeted with Molecular canapés such as ‘Watermelon jelly, feta, caramelised pumpkin seed’ and ‘Scallop and bouillabaisse cannelloni, wasabi and cauliflower espuma’. Beverages were also extremely futuristic with Prosecco being served from a bar which allowed guests to inject their own flavours and colour from a variety of concoctions in conical flasks all surrounded by billowing dry ice. We also partnered with our friends at Lick Me I’m Delicious who installed an Edible Fragrance Wall which further enhanced the theme of the event. Landing Forty Two’s blank canvas offers the ideal venue to fully commit to any theme and we at Moving Venue thoroughly enjoy bringing these to life with catering.

With over 100 events catered at Landing Forty Two in the last year, we have thoroughly enjoyed partnering with such a unique and diverse venue, we cannot wait to see what other unusual events we will be catering this year!
