A review of Park Row by Victoria Shkirenko

Park Row, located on Brewer Street in Soho, is London's first DC-inspired restaurant experience. A multi-room experience that's inspired by the legendary Gotham City. Here, you should expect incredible food, interactive cocktails and a full-on immersive and theatrical dining experience.

London's first DC-inspired restaurant experience

Park Row, London W1

Disguised as a library bookshelf, even entering the restaurant is an experience, making you feel like a character on a film set as you push open the hidden door. As you walk up the winding staircase, fully immersed in the wonders around you, you really start to think you are entering the Bat Cave.

Upon arrival, you are welcomed by immaculately dressed staff in slick velvet jackets and you can’t help but notice the giant ice sculpture of a penguin sitting proudly in the centre of the bar behind a cloud of nitrogen. This stylish and spectacular bar is the ‘plate to be seen’ in Gotham City.

As for the food, this didn’t disappoint! A particular favourite dish of mine was beetroot carpaccio starter with pomegranate, pecan nuts and horseradish, this fusion of flavours and elegantly designed dish made it a true showstopper.

For mains, the champagne and black truffle risotto was a standout with its delicate flavours. The dish was topped with shavings of black truffle giving that extra touch of luxury!

Once we got to dessert, the menu really came to life. If you had visited Park Rows’ Instagram before visiting, then you already know you can’t miss the theatrical pudding-time presentations. The most popular dessert is called ‘kiss from a rose,’ a tribute to Batman Forever’s famous theme song. The dish is a delicious combination of a vanilla custard tart served with a lychee ice cream. It comes with an edible rose frozen in nitric acid and then crushed and added as a garnish to your dessert in front of you – more spectacular theatre to behold!

You really don’t need to be a Batman fan to enjoy Park Row – the entire evening was full of quirks, twists, and unique moments and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
