As 2023 draws to a close, we're excited to reflect on some of the incredible events that made this year truly remarkable. At Moving Venue, we've had the privilege of being part of unforgettable moments that have touched hearts and created lasting memories. Let's take a look at some of the standout events that captured the essence of magic and joy.
Our 2023 Round-Up
As we approach the end of 2023, we are thrilled to reflect on some of the extraordinary events that have made this year so phenomenal. At Moving Venue, we’ve been honoured to contribute to both corporate and personal occasions, which have left a lasting impact on hearts and memories. Join us in revisiting some of our highlights from the past 12 months.
Magical Taxi Tour to Disneyland Paris at East Wintergarden
One of the most heartwarming experiences was the honour of contributing to the Magical Taxi Tour at East Wintergarden. This event, hosted by the Lord Mayor of the City of London, brought immeasurable joy to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families by taking them on a special journey from London to Disneyland Paris in London’s iconic black cabs. We were humbled to support this incredible cause by providing a bespoke breakfast for the send-off event, with the entire Moving Venue and Smart Group teams volunteering to cook, serve and supervise the event, with most beginning their morning at 3am. Seeing the smiles and excitement on the faces of these children and their families was a testament to the power of community, compassion, and the ability to create moments of happiness even in the face of adversity.
Roberts Creative transformed the V&A and Illuminate
In partnership with Roberts Creative, we had the pleasure of catering for our client’s welcome evening reception in The Dome, V&A, followed by a conference at Illuminate, Science Museum the following day. The guests were welcomed to the V&A for a Champagne reception before enjoying canapés and bowls from our Autumn/Winter menus, whilst having the opportunity to visit the exclusive Chanel exhibition. The Dome was dressed with beautiful florals, soft furnishings and draping throughout, transforming the Museum into a chic event.
The following morning, Illuminate was transformed and became almost unrecognisable. Guests arrived through a walkway of plants, trees and luscious foliage, before entering the lift, which had been disguised as a front door, to Level 4, where our friendly staff were waiting to serve breakfast. With the attendance of international guests, a London-centric ‘Borough Market’ theme took over Level 4, immersing attendees in an experiential delight. From delectable British Tapas to the Bao and Burger station, every corner felt like you truly were in the famous London Market.
Hampton Court Palace Festival
For the third consecutive year, this Summer we had the honour of being the catering partner at the Hampton Court Palace Festival. For two weeks, we presented the ‘King’s Dining Experience’ in the Great Hall and Little Banqueting House, The King’s Guard and The King’s Presence Chamber, followed by a fantastic performance within the Palace’s Clock Court with a lineup that included Tom Jones, Kool & the Gang, Grace Jones, and Kaiser Chiefs – to name a few! Prior to the concerts, guests enjoyed Champagne amidst the beautiful Privy Gardens, before moving to an exclusive VIP reception and dinner showcasing some of our favourite Summer dishes. Over the course of the two weeks, we had the pleasure of catering eight events, welcoming almost 700 guests!
A Breathtaking Wedding at The Natural History Museum
Another highlight of 2023 was a breathtaking wedding hosted at the prestigious Natural History Museum with By Chenai. This majestic venue provided a stunning backdrop for a celebration of love. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure every detail of the couple’s event was flawless, from the elegant tablescapes to the delicious menu that delighted the guests. The union of two people, amongst the historical setting of the venue, surrounded by stunning floral arrangements, made for a truly magical day. We were honoured to play a part in making it a seamless experience for the lovely couple.
Looking forward into 2024
At Moving Venue, we believe that every event, big or small, holds the potential to create cherished memories. It’s been a privilege to be a part of these remarkable occasions in 2023, and we look forward to continuing to create unforgettable culinary experiences in the year to come!
