Moving Venue by Smart cater for the inaugural ICE Awards at The British Museum

Moving Venue by Smart catered for the inaugural International Corporate Events Awards (ICE), an event established to recognise success amongst corporate event planners, held at the iconic British Museum.

The caterer created a bespoke, conceptual menu to meet the clients brief: develop a new style of Awards event to deliver a more relaxed and punchy awards ceremony.

Designed by head chef, Steve Williams, the menu reflected innovation and change in the event industry through alternative set-up and service. To enable guests to maximise networking time, small plates were served as starters in the Egyptian Sculpture Gallery, which included: ‘Asparagus salad, parmesan crisp, chervil and truffle dressing’ and beef fillet cooked pink with a pecan and peanut crust, pineapple salsa, lemongrass cream’.

For the main course, guests took their seats under the striking backdrop of the Norman Foster designed Great Court, dining on a light summer sea bass dish, followed by the awards ceremony which was short and impactful.

To continue further guests interaction, dessert was served in the recently refurbished Egyptian Sculpture Gallery. A vintage dessert station and a deceptively named ‘just chocolate’ station were the backdrop for the delighted guests.

Commenting on the event, Gail Heron, director of sales and marketing at Moving Venue said: “It was exciting and refreshing to create an innovative solution for a new style awards event. The ICE Awards organisers had a very clear vision of what they wanted to achieve and the evening was a great success and move forward for event awards dining.’
